 Bloomberg: Australia’s rice production is expected to be close to 200,000 tons, more than triple a year earlier, sparking hopes the best harvest in years might help reopen mills closed during the drought, the Australian Financial Review reported. While the outlook for the 2011 crop is good, cuts in water available for irrigation in the Murray-Darling Basin and many growers’ sale of their water entitlements to help with cash flow, may constrain production, the newspaper said.
